Event: Equestrian Guild Display and Contests

The An Tir Equestrian Guild is having a display and contests at 12th night!

Although 12th night this year is far away for many of us, it will be a chance
for the Southern Equestrians to shine!! Please let me know if you can contribute
something for the display table, books, horse items such as barding or bridles
or anything you have made or is just neat to look at.
Please let me know by December 31, if you can contribute to the display.

The contests this year are:

Saddles

Three categories.
1- Saddle with a tree substructure. - The biggest
project besides training a horse, making a saddle.
If it's not complete we still want to see it! If
all else fails, bring a block of wood and your
research!

2- Treeless Saddle - A period look w/o the wood
carving? Lets see it! Even if the original would
have had a tree we want to see it!

3- Saddle Disguise - Can you make a modern saddle
look period?
Documentation for the look you are trying to achieve.
Bring all entries to the Guild Table by 10:00am.

The Breyer horse barding contest and display:

Bring any Breyer horse or other brand such as
Peter Stone, that is approximately the same size. The
Traditional 6-7" from the shoulder standing, is
the size we are looking for but would not turn away
barded horses of the Classic size. (No tiny
stablemates please!)

Bard this horse in any way you like, documentation is
strongly encouraged and often determines the winner.

Please turn in your horse entries at the Guild
table by 10:00am on Saturday, remember this is also a display. Please pick up your
horses at 5:00pm.

As usual there are prizes for the contests, and I like to take pictures and put
them in the newsletter.
